My name’s Joao Nuno Batista, but just call me Joao.

 

I’m a London-based graphic designer who believes design should be more than decoration. For me, it’s about creating work that feels intentional, energetic, and rooted in culture. I’m drawn to visuals that carry meaning, spark curiosity, and leave a lasting impression.

My creativity is shaped by the world around me, from the rhythm of city life and street style to music, art, and conversations that stay with me. I like design that feels alive: laid-back but thoughtful, raw but refined, and always grounded in real experience. That mix of clarity and story is what excites me most, and it’s what I try to bring into every project.

Alongside professional work, I also enjoy experimenting with fun personal projects. They give me the freedom to play, explore new ideas, and keep my creativity sharp. Sometimes it’s about testing a style, other times it’s simply for the joy of making something unexpected.

At my core, I’m curious, driven, and always looking for new ways to connect ideas with visuals. I believe the best design is honest, memorable, and makes people pause for a moment, whether through bold simplicity, subtle detail, or something surprising.
